Region: Do Ribera Del Duero.
Grape varieties: 100% Tinto Fino (Tempranillo) primarily very old vines – 40 to 80 years old- from seven different villages in the province of Burgos, plus younger grapes from our own vineyards in two villages in the province of Valladolid. The harvest was done by hand, in small boxes of 15 kilos and thoroughly inspected, bunch by bunch, on the selection table.
Characteristic: Deep purple red colour. On the nose notes of cherry and raspberry with subtle aromas of spice and well integrated wood emerge. The palate is fresh with high density and volume. The typical flavours of the Tempranillo are all present — liquorice, roasted coffee and fresh tobacco. This wine is smooth and could be drunk from the first moment because of its roundness, balanced tannins and good acidity. AALTO 2017 will gain complexity over the years.
