Jakko Kroon is a Dutch entrepreneur, 48 years old and a proud father of three. His journey in the world of rum began in 2004, when at the age of 27 he joined Demerara Distillers — one of the most renowned rum producers in Guyana, South America.
More than ten years of experience, learning and hands-on work in the rum industry laid the foundation for the creation of his own company in 2016 — Navy Island Rum Company. Driven by a passion for unique flavors and high quality standards, Jakko Kroon dedicated himself to building brands that combine authenticity with a modern vision.

Navy Island is a small tropical island near Port Antonio, Jamaica. In the 18th century, it was used by the British Royal Navy. According to legend, in the 1940s the island even changed owners during a poker game generously “fueled” by rum.
Its vibrant history and Caribbean beauty inspired the creation of the traditional Jamaican rum Navy Island.
Belizean Blue is a unique Fairtrade-certified rum distilled and aged in Belize by Travellers Liquors Ltd.

The brand’s name comes from one of the largest butterflies in the world — the Blue Morpho, also known locally as the Belizean Blue. This is an honest rum that captures the essence and flavor of its region.

In 2025, the rum market continues to grow rapidly, with more enthusiasts seeking smooth, approachable and recognizable taste experiences. This shift inspired the creation of Caña Mística — a rum that combines decades of expertise with a fresh, contemporary vision.
On selected plantations where sugarcane ripens under the glow of the moon, Caña Mística is born. The finest cane is hand-harvested and entrusted to skilled distillers who transform it into a spirit with character. Each drop reveals soft notes of vanilla, orange blossom, caramel and warm spices, complemented by a delicate smoky nuance.
